Dwarf (20 points)
Dwarves are a matriarchal race descended from humans and mountain nymphs (Oreads). Different types of dwarves are descendants of Oreads of different mountains. Some Surface Dwarves may be able to pass as human, though some have inherited traits that identify them as children of the mountains, such as sandy or stone-colored skin, stone finger and toenails, etc. Adamant Dwarves and Volcanic Dwarves, those that spend most of their lives underground, are subject to stronger gravity due to their proximity to the Adamant veins in the mountains. These dwarves may range in height from 4-5 ½ feet. Both Adamant and Volcanic Dwarves are saturated with Adamant, an extremely dense, magnetic metal known to absorb magic. While inherently magical, these Dwarves are unable to harness arcane magic and are very resilient to it. Surface Dwarves are often merchants, considered a noble calling. Becoming saturated with Adamant is a one-way street, but it only takes a single generation for dwarf children to become “Surface Dwarves.”
Attribute Modifiers: ST+1 [10], HT+1[10], WP+1 [10], CH-1[-10]
Advantages: Night Vision 5 [5]
Disadvantages: Stubbornness (12) [-5]
In another draft, I will add the Surface, Adamant and Volcanic sub-races. I will probably go above the 20-point threshold in future iterations, and sub-races may vary drastically from this base.
I should probably add something here.
