I've put together a high-level timeline for the Kirinioth setting. Nothing recent yet. The top-level bullet points are chapter titles in my setting guide.
- Awakening of the Gods
- Creation of the World
- Gods create the elements and the world.
- Gods create the living things of the world (plants, animals, nymphs, humans, halflings, etc.).
- The God's War
- The gods begin to fight one another.
- The Dryads and Oreads join the nature god and give birth to the Elves and Dwarves.
- The nature god teaches the Dryads and Oreads how to bind a god.
- Using similar bonding magic, the Elves close the western borders of the forest off to fend off attacks from the west. The magics binding this forest have still not faded despite numerous attempts to dispel them.
- Eventually it becomes apparent that the nature god does not care for its creations. The Elves and Dwarves revolt, followed shortly thereafter by the Dryads and Oreads. They join the rest of the created races in the fight against the gods.
- The people bind the gods one-by-one, until only the nature god remains.
- In the final battle, the nature god is destroyed. This kills nearly everything in the region, including one of the ancient civilizations and creating the great desert. The ensuing storms isolate the Shielded Sea region.
- Isolation of the Shielded Sea Region
- As a result of the storms and the borders of the Elven Forest being cut off, inhabitants know very little of what is going on outside of the Shielded Sea region.
- The Last Hundred Years
- It's now approaching one thousand years since the last binding and the death of the nature god.
I should probably add something here.
