Racial Cost: 40 points
Adamant Dwarves are deep mountain-dwelling descendants of humans and mountain nymphs (Oreads). Though genetically identical to Surface Dwarves, Adamant Dwarves experience several changes. Having spent their entire lives close to the Adamant veins, these dwarves are saturated with Adamant, an extremely dense, magnetic metal that is known to absorb magic. While inherently magical, these dwarves are unable to manipulate arcane magic and are very resilient to it.
Attribute Modifiers: ST+1 [10], HT+1 [15], LO+1 [15], WL+1 [10], PR-1 [-10].
Secondary Characteristic Modifiers: Fatigue Points +3 [6], Mov-1 [-5].
Advantages: Damage Resistance 1 (Tough Skin) [3]; Magic Resistance 3 [6], Pickaxe Penchant 1* [5].
Disadvantages: Dependency (Adamant, Seasonally)* [-10], Stubbornness [-5]
Features: Armor isn’t interchangeable with human armor.
*Pickaxe Penchant: You’re a natural at fighting, bashing, and mining with axes and picks. This Talent adds to Axe/Mace, Forced Entry, Prospecting, Thrown Weapon (Axe/Mace), and Two-Handed Axe/Mace. Only Adamant Dwarves can have it and may buy up to three more levels at character creation. Reaction bonus: Miners. 5 points/level.
*Adamant Dependency: You must consume at least 3 ounces of adamant (usually powdered) every three months or lose 1 HP every three days until a dose is received.
