Bestiary Viewer and Editor App

December 27, 2022

I took advantage of some of my time off from work to continue developing a web application to input and view Bestiary entries for a custom GURPS ruleset. I am copy-pasting data and pushing it to a locally-stored database for personal use. Eventually I plan to create a print template so that I can have a formatted print copy in front of me (or a PDF if I'm playing online, which is far more likely).

The application saves a Bestiary object that can then be retrieved for viewing, and eventually editing. Of note, I am not currently filling in my custom attributes, and only using the ones from the book (some do have slightly different naming conventions). I'd also like to add a character generator that I can give my players access to, eventually being able to push those character sheets into Foundry VTT (there are a couple existing GURPS character generators, but they would take a lot of work to match my custom rules in use).

Bestiary page view when selecting the Dire Wolf entry.
Bestiary page view when clicking the Expand All button (only available after collapsing the list first).
Bestiary page view when selecting the Construct class toggle with Expand All active.
Bestiary Editor page populated from stats in the GURPS DF Monsters book. Note that formatting is not carried over, and entries make use of html tags <strong>, <em>, etc. There is a table of tags at the bottom of the page for easy copy-pasting.
