Red (bud)

Aspect: Decay, Fire, Renewal.

Red magic is the magic of fire, violent ends and beginnings and the natural cycle of decay and rebirth as something new. Renewal is bringing to life something new, more like the rebirth of the phoenix than a resurrection.

Sense bud: Detect fire or decay (including rot or corrosion).

Strengthen bud: Increase the intensity or size of a fire; accelerate the rate of decay or intensify disease.

Restore bud: Rekindle a dying fire; heal a scavenger creature or bugs associated with decay.

Control bud: Exert control over a fire or direct decay or corrosion; throw an existing fire as a minor fire bolt; control a fire elemental.

Destroy bud: Destroy or reduce the intensity or size of fire or decay; cure a disease (greater effect); damage scavengers or bugs associated with decay; remove corrosion, restoring metal to its original state.

Create bud: Create a fire or create an indirect fire attack spell; inflict a disease (greater effect).

Special Effect (combined with padei, transform): Kill a near-death living creature with fire (greater effect). That creature is reborn in 1d days. Its physical form is restored to its peak physique, any racial traits are retained, but the creature is reborn with a mostly-blank mind.
